Jianbo Wang Professor Research Team of Green Catalysis and Sustainable Synthesis

Professor Jianbo Wang is currently affiliated with the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Inner Mongolia University. Prior to taking up his current position, he had been working at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University for nearly 30 years. Professor Wang graduated from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 1983. In 1984, he studied at the Preparatory School of Northeast Normal University and then went to Japan in the same year. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from Hokkaido University in 1990. From 1990 to 1995, he served as postdoctoral fellow at the University of Geneva and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1995, he joined the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University. His main research focus lies in catalytic reactions via metal carbenes. He has published over 350 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He was the associate editor of the Journal of Physical Organic Chemistry and the Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry. Moreover, he is on the editorial board of Tetrahedron/Tetrahedron Letters, Chinese Journal of Chemistry, Acta Chimica Sinica and Journal of Fluorine Chemistry. Throughout his academic career, he has mentored 50 PhD students and more than 100 undergraduates. Over 40 of these graduates have now become professors in different universities and research institutions.
