Dong Wang is a licensed pharmacist. He is currently a full professor at the Pharmaceutical Institute , Xinjiang University. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Louisiana State University (USA, 2011) under the guidance of Prof. William E. Crowe. After his Ph.D., he successively worked in WuXi apptec. and the Longwood Biopharmaceuticals company. He started independent research in Tianjin University of Science and Technology until 2020. His research is focused primarily upon the development of new strategies and methodologies for the synthesis of complex nitrogen heterocycles, including complex pyridine and quinoline derivatives, dihydropyridine and dihydroquinoline derivatives, tetrahydropyridine and tetrahydroquinoline derivatives, etc. His research group has successfully established mild and efficient methods for a series of biologically active nitrogen heterocycles, such as azacoumarins azachromones, azabenzofurans, azaindoles, et al. As the first or corresponding author, He has ~50 publications in this area so far.
