Tianyun Wang Assistant Professor School of Basic Medical Sciences, Peking University
Tianyun Wang, Ph.D. in Genetics, is an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at School of Basic Medical Sciences, and in the Neuroscience Research Institute at Peking University. Dr. Wang received his B.S. (2011) from the National Life Science and Technology Talent Training Base, and Ph.D. (2016) in genetics from the State Key Laboratory of Medical Genetics at Central South University. He worked as a senior visiting scholar (2014-2016), and a postdoctoral fellow (2017-2022) at the University of Washington under the tutelage of Professor Evan E. Eichler, an academician of the two academies of the United States. He has long been committed on deciphering the genetic etiology of neurodevelopmental disorders via multi-omics and neuroscience technologies. In the past 5 years, he has published multiple notable papers in Nature Genetics, PNAS, Nature Communications, Trends in Genetics etc., as the first or corresponding (including co-authored) author, and participated in over 30 publications, with a total of more than 2100 citations and a H-index value of 21. He has also served as Reviewer and Guest Editor for over 10 journals.

Wang Lab is studying the genetic etiology and therapy of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). We have analyzed large-scale sequencing data for NDDs, and are collecting cohorts, identifying novel risk genes, investigating the etiology mechanisms via 3D organoid and mouse models, etc., aiming to provide scientific guidance for the precision diagnosis and early prevention and treatment for relevant diseases.
