On March 28, 2025, the "Liyan Wenzhen - Young Scholars' Symposium and Exchange Meeting" hosted by the Institute of Science and Technology Development of Shenzhen University was successfully held at Huiyuan Building on the Yuehai Campus. At the exchange meeting, eight young scholars from different disciplinary fields (from the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, the School of Medicine, the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, the School of Management, and the Institute for Advanced Study respectively) had in - depth discussions on the frontier basic and applied research in the field of artificial intelligence.

     Shi Wenjun from the Institute for Advanced Study shared a new paradigm for virus genome research based on large AI models. Through the LUCA biological large model system, distantly related novel proteins that are difficult to discover through conventional sequence similarity alignment can be found. By using model inference, potential exotic virus and nucleocytoplasmic virus sequences can be obtained, providing new scientific insights for virus evolution research.
