Research Team of Researcher Sun Xiangnan at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (Room-Temperature Spintronic Materials and Devices Research Platform)

Laboratory and Office Space:

The team possesses 150 m² of high-standard clean laboratory space (Room 108, Research Building; Room 125, South Building), a 26 m² chemistry laboratory (Room 123, South Building), and 78 m² of office space (Rooms 1027 and 1013, Research Building).

Experimental Conditions:

The team is equipped with a comprehensive and advanced set of organic spintronics research instruments (over 100 units), enabling in-house closed-loop capabilities for cutting-edge research in material creation, device fabrication, and characterization within the field of organic spintronics.

Organic spintronics is an emerging research field globally, and commercially available research equipment in this area is relatively scarce. Team members are encouraged to develop and build new instruments based on experimental needs.

A Glimpse into the Laboratory (Room 108, Research Building)

1. Synthesis and Purification of Organic Semiconductor Materials:

The team has established a dedicated chemistry laboratory for the synthesis of organic semiconductor materials and has set up a high-vacuum multi-zone sublimation purification system for further purification.

Located in Room 230, South Building.

2. Fabrication of Organic Spintronic Devices:

Based on an inert gas glovebox, the team has built a complete high-vacuum low-temperature spintronic device fabrication system. This includes an electron beam evaporator, thermal evaporation coater, spin coater, and vacuum plasma treatment instrument, used for preparing ferromagnetic metal layers, spin transport layers, and injection optimization layers in organic spintronic devices.

3. Characterization of Organic Spintronic Devices:

The team possesses three horizontal magnetic field ultra-high vacuum high-low temperature opto-electro-magnetic multi-field probe measurement systems, capable of exploring novel physical properties in organic semiconductor materials and organic spintronic devices under multi-field coupling (light, electricity, magnetism, temperature). Additionally, the team has an electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometer for directly characterizing the spin lifetime of organic semiconductor materials.
