Professor and doctoral supervisor at the National Key Laboratory of Microbial Modification Technology, Shandong University. He is a Shandong Taishan Scholar Young Expert, a recipient of the Shandong Overseas Outstanding Youth Fund, a defense reviewer for the National Key R&D Program, a National High-tech Enterprise Reviewer, and a correspondence reviewer for the Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund/Key Project. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Synthetic Biology and a young editorial board member of journals such as Chinese Chemical Letters and Green Carbon. He serves as an official reviewer for journals such as JACS and Nat. Comput. Sci. (IF: 17.4). He conducts research on efficient and green synthesis and bioactivity of microbial bioactive substances and high-value-added chemical products, utilizing synthetic chemistry and synthetic biology, combined with artificial intelligence high-throughput screening technologies. He has published over 30 high-quality research papers in internationally renowned journals such as Chem. Rev. (×2), Angew Chem. (×2), Green Chem. (×3), and ACS Catal., published 1 chapter of an English book, and has applied for four invention patents. He has presided over over 10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key R&D Program, and commissioned by industry.
Prof. Dr. Dian's research interests mainly focus on the organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, macrobial natural products and chemical biology.
During 2015-2018, Longyang was a senior researcher/ERC research fellow in prof. Ilan Marek's group in Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Later he moved to Manchester, working as a research associate in the University of Manchester with prof. David A Leigh during 2018-2019.
