Principal Investigator
Laurent MARON
Professor
Introduction :
Laurent Maron is a full professor of theoretical and computational chemistry at Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier in France. He earned dual doctoral degrees in 1999: one in theoretical chemistry from Toulouse University and another in theoretical physics from Stockholm University. He joined Toulouse University as an assistant professor in 2001 and was promoted to full professor in 2008. His research focuses on density functional theory (DFT) and quantum chemical methods, particularly the structure and reactivity of f-block elements (lanthanides and actinides), transition-metal, and main-group element complexes. He has received numerous honors, including being named a Junior Member (2006) and later Senior Member (2019) of the Institut Universitaire de France, the Humboldt Research Fellowship (2011), the RSC–SFC Lectureship in Chemical Sciences (2018), and Fellow of the Royal Chemical Society (FRSC) (2023). Maron leads an internationally collaborative research team and has made significant contributions to the activation of inert small molecules (such as N₂, CO, CO₂, and H₂) and the theoretical study of f-element catalysis. He has published over 800 scientific papers with nearly 24,000 citations.
Lijie LIU
Prof. Dr.
Introduction :
Liu Lijie, Ph.D., is currently employed at the College of Science, Henan Agricultural University. He graduated with a Ph.D. from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2019 under the supervision of Professor Wang Suning (Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada). From May to October 2018, he conducted visiting research at Queen's University in Canada. From 2019 to 2020, he engaged in postdoctoral research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) under the guidance of Academician Tang Benzhong and Professor Yang Jinglei. In 2021, he was selected for the "Top Talent" program at Henan Agricultural University as a distinguished professor. He has led one National Natural Science Foundation project and has been actively engaged in research on organic luminescent materials, stimuli-responsive materials, and organic boron chemistry. To date, he has published over 40 papers in international journals, including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Anal. Chem., and ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, with over 1200 citations and an H-index of 20.
