Hanlin Hu HIAM Synchrotron Radiation and Printable Photoelectric Device Group
Director of the Spray-Coated Photovoltaics R&D Center, Shenzhen PolytechnicRecipient of Guangdong Provincial Young Talent Program (2024)Class B of Shenzhen "Peacock Plan" for Overseas High-Level Talents (2021). He obtained his PhD from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia in 2017. He has held successive positions at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Shenzhen University, before joining the Hoffman Institute of Advanced Materials, Shenzhen Polytechnic full-time in 2020. At the institute, he participated in building Shenzhen's first Grazing Incidence Wide-Angle/X-ray Small-Angle Scattering (GIWAXS/GISAXS) beamline. His long-term research focuses on thin-film solar cells and in-situ tracking of material phase transitions using synchrotron radiation. He has presided over multiple projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation (General Program), Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Shenzhen Stable Support Program, and Shenzhen High-Level Talent Startup Project. He has published over 130 SCI-indexed papers in international journals such as Advanced Materials, Energy & Environmental Science, Materials Science & Engineering R, Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Science, Nano Energy, and Energy & Environmental Materials. Currently, he serves as a reviewer for journals including Nature Photonics, Energy & Environmental Materials, and Advanced Functional Materials. Based on his research achievements, he has filed 20 invention patents, 9 of which have been granted.
