Zhaowen Dong Professor Main Group Chemistry
Zhaowen Dong is Professor of Main Group Chemistry at Sichuan University. He obtained his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Müller at the University of Oldenburg in 2018. Subsequently, he conducted postdoctoral research under the guidance of Prof. Kay Severin at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) from 2019 to 2022. He was the recipient of the Chinese Government Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad Award (2017) and the Distinction "Summa Cum Laude" for his doctoral thesis at the University of Oldenburg (2018). He has been selected for the Young Science and Technology Talent of Sichuan Province (2023) and Chengdu Specially-Appointed Professor (2024). His research interests have primarily focused on the synthesis, reactivity and catalytic application of low-valent main group compounds, with a particular focus on silicon, germanium and tin-based compounds. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, including contributions to prestigious journals such as JACS, ACIE and Nat. Commun.
