The Bioinformatics Research Group focuses on the core scientific issues in bioinformatics big data mining, uses high-performance algorithms and tool development as a means, integrates bioinformatics, molecular biology, microbiology and other interdisciplinary technologies, and targets health, environment, ocean, etc. fields, and explore the "data-driven" innovative scientific research model. The PI of the research group is Professor Su Xiaoquan (distinguished professor of Qingdao University, doctoral supervisor), and the team currently has 4 teachers and 26 graduate students. The team was selected for the 2021 Shandong Province "Young Entrepreneurial Talents Introduction and Cultivation" plan, and has undertaken projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program, and Shandong Province's major basic projects, and published 40 academic papers in journals such as mBio, mSystems, and Bioinformatics For the rest of the articles, he has developed multiple bioinformatics algorithms and software such as Microbiome Search Engine, Dynamic-Meta-Storms, Parallel-Meta, Meta-Apo, and MIP.
