The Laboratory of Functional Materials for Aquatic Environment (LFMAE) was officially established on July 11, 2023, affiliated to the School of Marine Sciences, Ningbo University, with Professor Renyuan Li serving as its Principal Investigator (PI).  The group mainly focuses on application-oriented fundamental research in clean-energy-driven utilization of non-traditional water resources, water purification, and collection & conversion of water contaminants into available resources, while also developing and promoting technologies for the synergistic production and application of water and energy. The main research interests are:

1.      (Sea)water condition regulating, monitoring, and resources utilization.

2.      Alternative water resources for water-energy-food nexus.

3.      Sustainable water purification and zero-liquid-discharge for brine treatment.

4.   Development of environmental functional nanomaterials and their surface modifications for functionalized porous nanosorbents, photolithography-based biochips, 3D printing-based functional devices.

5.      Innovative aquaculture
