Covalent aptamer chimeras (CApTEC) engineered with sulfonyl fluoride groups and an LC3 ligand has been developed for the targeted degradation of membrane proteins via the autophagy-lysosomal pathway. CApTECs form covalent bonds with target proteins, resulting in enhanced and prolonged protein degradation compared to the non-covalent designs, highlighting their potential for designing safe and effective therapeutics.
