Yong-He Han BGC group

Yong-He Han, male, born in Longyan, Fujian Province, holds a Ph.D. in Science and is an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor (specializing in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, and Resource Recycling Science and Engineering). He graduated from the School of the Environment at Nanjing University in June 2017 with a major in Environmental Science and Engineering (research field in Environmental Biology). Currently, he serves as the department chairman of environmental science at the College of Environment and Resources, Fujian Normal University. Dr. Han has been selected for the talent programs such as Fujian Province High-Level Talent (Category C), Quanzhou City "Harbor Plan" High-Level Talent (Tier 3), Quanzhou City "Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Cluster" High-End Talent, and Fujian Normal University "Baochen Plan" Young Elite Scholar. Dr. Han' research interests include the interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of environmental biology, microbial ecology, soil chemistry, molecular biology, and materials science (bio-based polymer materials) with a focus on soil nutrition, tailing remediation, and organic pollutant degradation. Morever, Dr. Han has hold several Grants & Projects as Principal Investigator, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Fujian Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Fujian Provincial Department of Education Fund, etc. To day, Dr. Han has published over 90 academic papers in leading domestic and international journals such as Acta Scientiae Circumstantiae, Asian Journal of Ecotoxicology, Acta Microbiologica Sinica, Cellulose, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, Environmental Pollution, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, Journal of Environmental Management, and Journal of Hazardous Materials, along with one book chapter and participation in compiling one TextBook. Additionally, Dr. Han serves as a Guest Editor for Agriculture, Topic Editor for Frontiers in Chemistry, and Young Editorial Board Member for Energy & Environment Nexus, Journal of Fujian Normal University (Natural Science Edition), Journal of Light Industry, Chinese Journal of Soil Science, Acta Pedologica Sinica, and China Environmental Science. He also acts as a reviewer for about 80 domestic and international journals, having reviewed more than 810 journal papers since 2017 (as of October 16, 2025). Hong Zhang BGC group

Hong Zhang, female, born in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, holds a Ph.D. in Science and is an associate professor and Master's Supervisor (specializing in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, and Resource Recycling Science and Engineering). She graduated from the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University in June 2018 with a major in Environmental Geography (research field in Environmental Toxicology). In August 2018, she joined the College of Environmental Science and Engineering (now the College of Environment and Resources, Carbon Neutral Modern Industry College) at Fujian Normal University as a Fujian Province-introduced talent. Her research primarily focuses on the analysis and monitoring of environmental pollutants, their toxic effects, and health risk assessments. To date, she has published over 40 papers in leading journals such as Chemosphere, Environmental Pollution, Environmental Research, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, Environmental Technology & Innovation, Journal of Environmental Sciences, Journal of Hazardous Materials, and Thrombosis Research. She has presided over multiple research projects, including the Fujian Provincial Natural Science Foundation General Project, the Fujian Provincial Mid-Career Teacher Education and Research Project, and the Fujian Normal University Teaching Reform Project. Additionally, she serves as a young editorial board member for the journal Chemical Reagents and as a reviewer for several domestic and international mainstream academic journals.

Yong Zhang BGC group

Yong Zhang, male, born in Jingzhou, Hubei Province, holds a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences and is an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor (specializing in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, and Resource Recycling Science and Engineering). He graduated with a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences (research field in Marine Biology) from the Helmholtz Institute for Ocean Research at Kiel University, Germany, in June 2015. His research primarily focuses on the effects of climate change and environmental factors, such as temperature, carbonate system parameters (CO2 and pH), light, and nutrient concentration variations, on the physiological and biochemical characteristics of algae, as well as their transcriptional regulatory mechanisms, by using the methodologies such as field sampling, voyage cultivation experiments, microcosm enclosure experiments, and single-species cultivation experiments. To date, he has presided over 7 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province. Dr. Zhang has published more than 50 papers in leading journals in the fields of marine and environmental sciences, such as Nature Climate Change, Limnology and Oceanography, Biogeosciences, Water Research, Environmental Technology & Innovation, and Marine Environmental Research.
