On October 12, 2024, the Laboratory of Advanced Low-Dimensional Materials and Devices successfully held a commendation meeting and freshman training session. Professors Cai Jinming, Tan Honglin, and Yan Cuixia, Associate Professors Cai Xiaoming and Leng Chongyan, as well as Special Appointed Associate Professors Ye Qianxu, Qin Ming, and He Jia attended this event. The event kicked off with the announcement by Professor Cai Jinming. Mr. Cai first introduced the basic situation of the laboratory. This laid the foundation for new members to better integrate into the team and understand the laboratory culture. Subsequently, it was the evaluation and award ceremony. In the semester assessment of the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, a total of 4 students won the Excellent Award, and 9 students won the Progress Award. These students performed excellently in the past semester, and their efforts and achievements have been fully recognized by the laboratory teachers and classmates.

Immediately afterwards, the event entered the volunteer commendation session. A total of 14 volunteers were commended for their active and enthusiastic service attitude and professional spirit during the "2024 China Scanning Probe Microscopy Conference (ChinaSPM 2024)" hosted by the laboratory. They successfully completed various volunteer service tasks and made important contributions to the smooth progress of the conference. The commendation of these volunteers reflects the laboratory's emphasis on and encouragement of the spirit of teamwork. It also sets an example for other members of the laboratory.

In the freshman welcome session, the freshmen introduced themselves and showed their personal styles. The supervisors distributed notebooks to the freshmen and took group photos.

The training content includes literature search, vacuum experiment, computer training, CVD training, chemical experiment training, as well as training in high temperature and high pressure and biology. These trainings not only help the freshmen quickly integrate into the scientific research environment of the laboratory, but also lay a solid foundation for their academic careers. The successful holding of this commendation and training meeting not only enhanced the cohesion among laboratory members, but also kicked off the postgraduate journey for new members.
