Organic chemistry/computational modeling of ligand-receptor interactions

My research efforts focus on development of drugs targeting G protein-coupled receptors. Of particular interest to me is the dopamine D3 receptor, a promising therapeutic target for treatment of schizophrenia and cocaine addiction. I am currently investigating, using computational methods, the binding interactions of new piperidine-derived compounds to the dopamine D3 receptor. Other areas of interest: elucidation of reaction mechanisms and understanding of substrate reactivity / selectivity in organic reactions.
