SEPTEMBER 20-21, 2022
Join us for the next JACS Innovation Summit — The Future of Chemistry

The Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS) is pleased to invite you to join us on September 20 and 21 with JACS editors, notable alumni and outstanding scholars from Jilin University, to celebrate the College of Chemistry’s 70th Anniversary.

JACS Innovation Summit — The Future of Chemistry is a hybrid event commemorating the college's 70th anniversary. JACS editors - Professors Zhaomin Hou, E.W. “Bert” Meijer, and Tanja Weil - as well as renowned scientists who graduated from Jilin University - Professors Bai Yang, Dongyuan Zhao, Junbai Li, Lei Jiang, Lifeng Chi, and Yuguang Ma - feature as plenary speakers, and young professors from Jilin University are invited as flash talk speakers.
Professor Jihong Yu, Jilin University, will moderate this Summit.
In addition to presenting cutting-edge research on chemistry and material science today, we also hope that this special occasion will bring us together to celebrate the College's history and look ahead to a bright future.

We look forward to meeting you in September!

About the JACS Innovation Summit Series

Hosted by the Journal of the American Chemistry Society and organized by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Chemistry CAS, National Science Library CAS, and ACS Publications this event series was launched as a virtual webinar program that aims to disseminate thought-provoking research to a broad audience.

The opening session JACS Innovation Summit – Chemistry: A Better Future was held on April 26, 2021. The successful event attracted 120 onsite attendees and over 7,000 online audiences simultaneously across 50 countries. We were honored to have opening remarks by Professor Tao Zhang, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Erick Carreira, Editor-in-Chief of JACS. Four CAS Academicians Jihong Yu, Buxing Han, Li-Zhu Wu and Kuiling Ding provided the scientific speeches. Dr. Sarah Tegen, the Senior Vice President of ACS Publications provided the closing speech.

The second session of the JACS Innovation Summit – Yanqi Molecular Science Forum – took place on July 19, 2021. This was a hybrid virtual + in-person event at UCAS Yanqi International Conference Center, Beijing, China.

The third session of the JACS Innovation Summit – ICCAS 65th Anniversary Celebration – took place on October 19, 2021.
This was a hybrid virtual + in-person event at ICCAS conference center in China.

In 2022 the JACS Innovation Summit - Chemistry for a Bright Future - took place on April 7. This hybrid event focused on chemical synthesis and was hosted by the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Four outstanding researchers - including Nobel Laureate, Professor Benjamin List - discussed their most recent research on chemical synthesis.
