Answer to: Image 3: Hepatic Amyloidosis
Figure A shows the coronal reformat from a portal venous phase computed tomography scan of the liver. The liver is seen extending below the costal margin with a maximum cranio-caudal dimension of 27 cm. The liver morphology was normal with normal hepatic attenuation and no hepatic steatosis or focal liver lesions. Figure B shows the liver biopsy specimen with H&E staining displaying deposition of eosinophilic amorphous material in the sinusoids with very little residual hepatocytes present.
