Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

A zeolite-based catalyst modified with an active catalytic chloroferrate additive has been developed to serve as a weakly acidic regulator of catalyst activity. This catalyst displays high activity in the catalytic cracking of fuel oil leading to the formation of light gaseous hydrocarbons and a broad range of liquid isomeric and aromatic hydrocarbons. The cracking process is accompanied by low coke formation. The use of this catalyst under relatively mild temperature conditions permits an increase in the extraction of light oil products.
