Abstract

The dispersion properties of electromagnetic waves propagating in a tangentially magnetized ferrite plate with bigyrotropic properties in combination with magnetic dissipation are considered. A complex (due to dissipation) dispersion relation is obtained. Branches of dispersion curves that are typical only of a dissipative medium are found. The critical value of the damping parameter that separates two significantly different regions of dispersion is obtained. It is shown that the critical damping parameter corresponds to the transition of magnetic oscillations from the periodic regime to the aperiodic one.
