Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the broiler production’s technical efficiency in Northern Thailand and the factors affecting the broiler production’s technical efficiency in Northern Thailand. The study used secondary data about the overview of the broiler industry in 17 provinces of Northern Thailand from 2015 to 2019. It was found that the rate of change in broiler production in Northern Thailand was in contrast to other regions of Thailand through an analysis of Super-Efficiency Data Envelopment Analysis (SE-DEA) and Tobit regression. The result showed that all 17 provinces in Northern Thailand performed with different technical efficiency scores. Lamphun province had the highest efficiency score at 3.93, and Phayao province had the lowest efficiency score at 0.70 which was still considered a high-efficiency level. Finally, the average technical efficiency score of all 17 provinces in Northern Thailand was 1.31 which was a considerably high broiler production’s technical efficiency. Furthermore, the factors influencing the technical efficiency of broiler production in Northern Thailand were the education level, season, and age of farmers, which are associated with a policy of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in terms of the quality education, responsible consumption and production, and climate action. They are demonstrated that SDGs is to be conscious in broiler production.
