Abstract
The paper describes the synthesis and characterization of pure-silica BEA zeolite and silicalite-1 (Si–MFI) samples that were used for the adsorption immobilization of Aspergillus oryzae β-galactosidase. The highest adsorption capacity (17 mg/g) and the highest catalytic activity (32% of the enzyme activity in solution) were achieved on the BEA sample. Despite the equality in the enzyme catalytic activity on both samples of silicalite-1 (specifically, 27% of the enzyme activity in solution), the enzyme adsorption capacity on the fine-crystalline sample (14 mg/g) proved to be several-fold higher than that on the coarse-crystalline sample (3.6 mg/g).

Funding
The synthesis and physicochemical examination of the samples were performed with financial support from the Russian Science Foundation (RSF Grant no. 20-13-00203). The adsorption and catalytic properties of the enzyme were investigated within the State Program “Physical chemistry of surface, adsorption and catalysis.”
