Titania-Based Adsorbents for Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography

Abstract

Stationary phases based on titania are obtained by the adsorptive attachment of polyethyleneimine followed by crosslinking with 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether. The chromatographic properties of the adsorbents are studied using the Tanaka test for hydrophilic stationary phases and on an example of a separation of a model mixture of water-soluble B vitamins. It is shown that varying the amount of reagents at the stage of synthesis of the stationary phase affects the structure of the functional layer and thereby makes it possible to obtain a adsorbent with improved chromatographic characteristics.
