Approaches to synthesis and chemical modification of isorhodanine and its derivatives (microreview)

  • Published:
Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds Aims and scope

The microreview summarizes the literature data on the chemical properties of 4-thioxothiazolidin-2-one (isorhodanine) derivatives. The first section is devoted to the isorhodanine reactions at thiocarbonyl group. The second section includes basic scaffold reactions involving methylene group at position С-5. In the third section, information on the isorhodanine cyclocondensation reactions with the formation of polyheterocyclic compounds, containing both methylene and thiocarbonyl groups, is systematized.
