Synthesis and Thermoluminescence Properties of Crystalline Cadmium Tetraborate-Based Phosphors

  • Published:
Inorganic Materials Aims and scope

Abstract

CdB4O7:xCr3+ (x = 3, 5, 7 mol %) new phases have been prepared by solid-state reactions. The synthesized phases of variable composition have been characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. The materials have been shown to be isostructural with each other and the CdB4O7 tetraborate (sp. gr. Pbca). We have studied the thermoluminescence properties of the Cr3+- and Mn2+-doped crystalline CdB4O7 phosphors under UV excitation.
