Abstract

Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a very promising technology in several applications, where low-power consumption, low complexity, and low-cost constraints are strongly required, particularly for high-resolution radars, collision detectors, high speed communication systems and precise geo-localization devices. The chaotic signal is also a good candidate for generating chaos in Ultra-wideband (UWB) because of its interesting proprieties. In this paper, a new chaotic generator circuit is proposed and designed. The aim is to achieve an Ultra-wideband range occupied by a chaotic signal with low-cost design. The proposed architecture circuit was simulated using the advanced design systems (ADS) tool. A mathematical model of this circuit is developed. Based on simulation results, the proposed circuit was manufactured using a positive photosensitive (PTFE) copper board (ABT18). Experimental results show that this circuit presents good chaotic dynamic behavior with Ultra-wideband signal up to 5 GHz and uniform spectrum around \(-40\) dBm. The generated random-like signal can be very useful in many real applications, such as jamming and through-the-wall imaging.
