Aluminum Matrix Composites with Hematite and Cast Iron Fillers

Abstract

A process for the preparation of aluminum-matrix composites with hematite and cast iron fillers is proposed. Aluminum metal is used as one of the promising components in modern composite materials. This is due to the structural compatibility of components in the aluminum matrix composite with fillers, hematite and cast iron. An oxide film of aluminum on the particle surface of finely divided hematite was found to be an intermediate layer in the developed composite material.
