    Additionally, Allievi et al.19 suggested that a strong two-dimensional reflector, such as calcified leaflets, could be an alternative explanation for CDS. However, we found that leaflet calcification was inversely associated with the presence of CDS, which is in agreement with the hypothesis of Wiener et al.14 Additionally, machine settings (e.g., color Doppler gain, scale/Nyquist limit, compression and transducer frequency) have been reported to affect the presence and extent of CDS.
