AgNO3 COMPLEXES WITH 15-CROWN-5 AND DIBENZO-18-CROWN-6

Abstract

Two new complexes of silver nitrate with crown ethers are prepared and structurally characterized. The diffusion of diethyl ether vapor into the reaction solution results in the crystallization of [Ag(15C5)(NO3)] (15C5 = 15-crown-5) (1) and [Ag(DB18C6)(NO3)]·DMF (DB18C6 = dibenzo-18-crown-6) (2). Both complexes are characterized by single crystal XRD, powder XRD, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.
