Abstract

A method to determine the energy released in the elements of pulsed systems with powerful capacitive energy storage devices has been proposed. The method is based on an experimental study of a typical shape of current pulse in the device and determining the frequency range in which the research should be carried out, on determining the frequency characteristics of individual elements of the power-supply system of the device and development of their equivalent circuits that are typical for a given frequency range, and on the development and investigation of a general equivalent circuit for a pulse device. The results of calculations of the energy-loss distribution for a high-voltage electrophysical setup used to produce ultradispersed particles have been considered. It is shown that, when determining the equivalent circuit of a powerful capacitive storage, it is necessary to take into account the ways of connection of individual elements of this device. Comparison of the results of numerical simulations of the current and voltage distribution on individual elements of the device with the experiments has shown that the results obtained using the suggested method have a rather high accuracy.
