Abstract

In order to investigate the improvement of the friction properties of metal rubber microfilaments (MRM) by surface texture and solid lubricating grease, the effect of laser surface texturing (LST) on the fretting friction and wear properties of microfilaments under solid lubricating grease was investigated. The laser marking machine was used to fabricate a ring groove array with equal spacing arrangement on the surface of MRM. The influence of texture density and different working conditions on the friction properties of MRM under the condition of grease lubrication was investigated by a self-made friction and wear tester. The results show that the combination of grease and texture has better anti-friction performance; the greater the texture density, the smaller the friction coefficient of the specimen and the less the wear amount under the condition of grease lubrication; in the stage of stable fretting wear, the wear depth increases as the load and speed increase.
