Abstract

A new tribe, Palaeoanoplini trib. nov., with a new genus, Palaeoanoplus gen. nov., and a new species, P. horridus sp. nov., of the subfamily Curculioninae are described from the Late Eocene Baltic amber. The new tribe is close to the Recent tribe, Anoplini; however, it differs from Anoplini by its tibia without uncus, as well as by tarsal claws present, without teeth, prosternum with postocular lobes, and body covered with long erect setae.
