Abstract

Aspects of biocompatibility and mechanisms of antibacterial activity of polyaniline and polypyrrole are considered. Hypotheses are made concerning the interconnection of the cytotoxicity of polyaniline and polypyrrole with their chemical properties. Certain areas in the application of polyaniline and polypyrrole in the medical and biological fields are outlined.
