Abstract

An approach to reserve estimation is discussed for the Upper Cretaceous Senonian deposits at the Medvezh’e gas field. The approach is based on the geological and petrophysical characterization and production history of the field. The predominant shale deposits that form the gas-bearing reservoir are described and characterized. Primary guidelines are defined to estimate geology and hydrocarbon saturation based on geophysical well logs.
