Carburization of the Working Surfaces of Bars of a Plasma Pulse Source

Abstract—An experimental study of the carburization of the working surfaces of bars in an ablative pulsed plasma source with the lateral supply of a solid propellant is carried out. In the course of the study, factors influencing the formation of stable carbon coating during source operation in different modes are considered. The temperature of the propellant bars is shown to not influence the process of forming a stable carbon coating on their working surfaces.
