Effect of the Curvature of a Spherical Flame on Its Speed: Comparison of Two Approaches

  • Published:
Combustion, Explosion, and Shock Waves Aims and scope

Abstract

Two approaches to describing an expanding spherical flame are compared. Processing of a large amount of experimental data shows that the approach using as a small parameter a parameter proportional to the strain rate gives a lower accuracy approximation than the approach using as a small parameter the ratio of the flame thickness to the radius of curvature.
