Retraction Note to: Integrative Physiological and Behavioral Science (1991) 26:309–322
The Editor has retracted this article (Eysenck et al., 1991) following an investigation by Kings’ College London into concerns raised regarding a large body of work by Professor Hans Eysenck and Professor Ronald Grossarth-Maticek. The investigation concluded that the results of the research were unsafe, due to two issues. First, the validity of the datasets, in terms of recruitment of participants, administration of measures, reliability of outcome ascertainment, biases in data collection, absence of relevant covariates, and selection of cases analysed in each article. Second, the implausibility of the results presented, many of which show effect sizes virtually unknown in medical science. The results are therefore unreliable. A full report of the findings can be found here: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/news/statements/hans-eysenck
B. Everitt agrees with this retraction. R. Grossarth-Maticek has not responded to correspondence regarding this retraction. H.J. Eysenck is deceased.
