1 Correction to: Synthese https://doi.org/10.1007/s11229-020-03006-2
The original article has been updated. Unfortunately, not all corrections were carried out correctly. In several formulae the existential quantifier ‘∃’ was changed to the universal quantifier ‘∀’. This has been corrected in all places.
Affected were the following formulae:
Example 3.
λF. λG. ∃x[(Fx & ∀y(Fy → x = y)) & Gx].
Example 4.
(∃x1)((∀x2)(Fx2 ≡ x2 = x1) & Gx1). (1993: pp. 79–80). (His emphasis).
Example 1d.
∃x[(Fx & ∀y(Fy → x = y)) & Gx].
Example 7.
WONDERS [S, ∃x((GHOST-IN-HAN’S-ATTIC x & ∀y(GHOST-IN-HAN’S-ATTIC y → x = y)) & NOISY x)].
Example 9.
BELIEVES [S, ∃x (GHOST-IN-HAN’S-ATTIC x)].
Example 12.
~ ∃x[(BOY x & ∃y((DOG y & BOUGHT x, y) & ∀z((DOG z & BOUGHT x, z) → y = z))) & SOLD x, y].
Example 18.
∃x[((DOG x & x = LASSIE) & ∀y((DOG y & y = LASSIE) → x = y)) & OLD x].
Footnote 36.
〚nʊ〛 = λsr. λF. λy: ∃!x(Fx, sr & x = y). ιx(Fx, sr & x = y) [Where ‘sr’ denotes a resource situation].
