Abstract

New data on distribution of seven fish species from the families Argentinidae, Scorpaenidae, Cepolidae, Pinguipedidae and Tetraodontidae are presented. Argentina kagoshimae, Hoplosebastes armatus, Owstonia kamoharai and O. tosaensis are reported for Vietnam for the first time. Owstonia sibogae and Tylerius spinosissimus formerly known in Vietnam from the Bay of Tonkin only are reported off southern Vietnam for the first time. Previous record of Parapercis diplospilus off Vietnam was based on the misidentified juveniles of P. alboguttata. The peculiar dermal structures on the dorsal surface of the head of Owstonia kamoharai are discovered.
