Abstract
Results are presented from an experimental study of the processes of thermal relaxation in viscoelastic media under the action of ultrasonic waves. Silagerm 5020 1/3 polyurethane is selected as a model sample of a viscoelastic medium. A plane ultrasonic transducer with a cooled surface is used to heat the samples. Temporal dependences of the temperature distribution at different depths of a polyurethane sample are obtained and interpreted.
