Christopher T. Conner is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Missouri, Columbia. His work explores how subgroups maintain solidarity in light of commodifying tendencies and other historical forces. He has two books due out next year which explore these processes among electronic dance enthusiasts, titled Electric Empires, and within gay communities, titled Somewhere Beyond The Rainbow, both under contract with Rowman and Littlefield/Lexington Books.
