Preparation of 90Y by a 90Sr-90Y chromatographic generator using combined columns containing Sr resin and DGA resin for radionuclide therapy

Abstract

We developed and tested a 90Sr/90Y generator that using combined columns containing Sr resin and DGA resin. The chromatographic columns were fabricated and then packed with resin contents. Optimization of the columns based on HNO3 and HCl media carried out. The results showed that the value of 90Y with respect to 90Sr for final product was 5 × 106 with a high efficiency of separation (> 99%). The results suggested that the separation of 90Y by the combined Sr/DGA resin columns have a potential to reach high radionuclide purity suitable for radiopharmaceuticals preparation based on peptides, antibodies and particulates labeled with 90Y.
