Abstract

The possibility of obtaining nitrogen-free detonation nanodiamonds from industrial-produced explosives is studied, and the low probability of their production is demonstrated. The dependence of the yield of detonation nanodiamonds on the content of covalently bound nitrogen (C–N) in the molecules of explosives is found, and the optimal range of the nitrogen content (23–28 wt %) is determined.
