Abstract

This paper proposes a method for rapid cladding of copper powder with aluminum. The optimal parameters (frequency and amplitude of oscillations) of the experimental setup and the dispersity and volume fraction of the interacting powders are determined. The most productive cladding mechanism is considered. Dependences of the coating thickness (from 5 to 25 μm) on copper particles on the temperature (18–600°C) and the time of heating (5–30 s) the powder mixture are determined. It is shown that the highest rates of the coating growth on copper particles and the formation of Al–Cu intermetallic compounds are achieved at the temperatures of Al and Cu recrystallization.
