Abstract

The effect of the destructive O-alkylation of the organic matter of brown coal from the Tyulgan deposit in the South Ural basin on the yield and component composition of bitumoids was studied. The positive effect of alkylation with n-butanol on an increase in the yield of aliphatic lignite bitumoid fractions was found. The process of O-alkylation was optimized in terms of the weight yield of bitumoids; a number of adequate regression equations were obtained for the dependences of the yield of bitumen fractions on the parameters of the test process. The following biologically active substances were detected in the composition of bitumoids and their fractions: ferruginol, betulin, n-tetracosanol-1, etc.
