Abstract

Within the Olyutorka–Kamchatka accretionary zone, several terranes of an island-arc, marginal-sea, and oceanic nature are distinguished. The igneous complexes of these terranes were formed within the active margin of the Western Pacific type. New data on the opening age of the marginal basins, as well as on the composition and age of the volcanic and terrigenous lithologic complexes of the terranes composing the Olyutorka–Kamchatka region, give grounds to propose a new refined model of the evolution of this region. The geodynamical reconstructions for the K2st-km1, K2km-m, and ₶1–₶2 times are presented.
