Abstract

We propose an approach to the analysis and interpretation of spectra of photoinduced circular dichroism (PICD) of semiconductor nanocrystals, in particular, quantum dots, based on comparison of these spectra with the spectra of magnetic circular dichroism (MCD). We show that MCD and PICD spectra have similar features. The values of parameters similar to the well-known parameters A and B of the MCD spectra, which characterize the splitting and mixing of states, are determined from the PICD spectra.
