Abstract
Food of cardinalfish Epigonus аffinis in the northeastern part of the Vavilov Ridge (Guinean Elevation) consists of the pelagic organisms that are a part of the sound-dispersing layers. The main objects of its feeding are euphausiids and fish of the Myctophidae family. As the cardinalfish grows, the size of its victim increases, but the ratio of the length of the prey and the length of the predator for the each group of food organisms hardly changes.
