Abstract

The kinematics of the motion of floating elements (ring) of rotor mechanisms under steady state rotation modes is examined experimentally. The ring is placed with a gap with respect to the drive cylindrical link and touches it without losing contact. It is shown that the ring motion is a direct asynchronous precession and its points circumscribe epitrochoids, if the driving motion is “lunar.”
