Reaction of 5-(Arylmethylidene)-2,4,6-pyrimidine2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-triones with Morpholine N-Oxide

Abstract

The reaction of 5-(arylmethylidene)-2,4,6-pyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-triones with morpholine in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and catalytic amounts of sodium tungstate leads to the synthesis of 2-aryltetrahydro-1'H,2H-spiro(isoxazole[3,2-c][1,4]oxazine-3,5'-pyrimidine)-2',4',6'(3'H)-triones.
