Abstract
The structural and evolutionary peculiarities of the southern part of the central sector in the Indian ocean are considered based on the analysis of the global digital models of distribution of fault zones, global and regional lithosphere evolution models and the published geological and geophysical data. Tectonic zoning of oceanic crust of the area has been performed and the main evolution stages of the lithosphere are distinguished.
